Your
First Visit
• First, for your comfort, and really for mine, too, I’d
like you to call me Alberto. The reason? I think it makes it
easier for you to ask questions and it becomes the foundation
of a mutually respectful relationship.
• You’ll meet everyone on staff, have a short tour,
and, I hope, begin to feel comfortable. Your trust in our team
is important, so we want you to feel at ease in our environment
and with our staff, who want to get to know you, too.
• If you’ve been referred to us, we should have
copies of your records or we will request them. The next step
is an oral exam, a TMJ exam, and a head and neck cancer screening.
Where important decisions on your health are concerned, we want
to be sure we know exactly what the problem is before we begin
treatment.
• At this point, one of three things will happen:
1.If no further treatment is necessary, you’re off and
running.
2.If we can determine from our exam and your records what the
problem is, we’ll discuss the options with you and set
a course of action.
3.If we need more information or tests to determine the best
treatment, we will gather these and schedule another appointment
to discuss the choices with you.
• And finally, if you go home or back to work and find
you have more questions, please don’t hesitate to call,
email, or fax me. I not only want to help, I’m here to
help.
Insurance
We are a fee for service office and do not
belong to any preferred provider program. However, we do help
you with your insurance by means of pre-authorization requests,
letters if needed and phone calls as necessary. Ultimately,
you are responsible for your account. We do not work with the
Medicare/Medicaid program.
The multi disciplinary team
There are times when you would need to see other specialists
in order to provide you with the best possible care. As specialists,
we only perform the procedures that we are “best in town”
at. Therefore, and depending on the complexity of your particular
case, you may need to see other dental specialists such as endodontists,
periodontists, orthodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons
