Coronavirus Notice

last updated on December 1st, 2021

Dear patients,

First and foremost, I hope you and yours are well.

I want to share with you the steps we are taking moving forward to protect YOU, as well as ourselves and the community.

If you know me, you know that 1) I closely track the available scientific data, and when data isn’t available, I’ll follow what appears to be, from scientific extrapolation, the best available option, and 2) that every step we take has the patient at the center of our decisions. Our sources include the American Dental Association, the Oregon Board of Dentistry, the Center for Disease Control, the Oregon Dental Association, The Oregon Health Authority, The Occupational Health and Safety Administration, The World Health Organization, and most important, the available scientific data I gather from professional medical journals, as well as information I gather from colleagues and my wife, who is a local ICU physician.

The following measures are effective December 1st, 2021.

Why?

  1. Dentistry is a high-risk environment.

  2. There are still governmental rules in place with respect to dentistry.

What are we doing?

  1. Current patients who have not returned since the beginning of the pandemic will notice we remodeled the office, coronavirus in mind.

  2. For now, no magazines, or water fountain; sorry.

  3. Our door will be locked at all times to avoid walks ins. To come in ring at our ring bell.

  4. Our entire team is vaccinated.

  5. You’ll notice that we are using more protective gear than we did in the past.

  6. In addition to our usual disinfection procedures, you’ll notice our staff will be wiping around the front desk with disinfectant, in between patients.

Things we ask you to do.

  1. When confirming your appointment, and/or upon arrival, you will be asked certain questions regarding coronavirus (screening process) to make sure it is safe to see you. We want to make sure you, or any member of your household have not travelled to risky areas, or have any symptoms in the past 2 weeks.

  2. Upon arrival, ring the bell and stay outside. A member of our team will eventually come outside to get you and get your temperature. If the temperature is over 100.4 we will not be able to see you that day.

  3. Please let us know if you are not vaccinated. We strongly recommend vaccination. We will see unvaccinated patients but need to take additional steps to do so.

  4. Please bring a mask and use it at all times except when you seat at the dental chair.

  5. Please do not bring family members, rides, etc., with you. They can wait outside.

  6. Please maintain social distancing while in the waiting room.

  7. Please spend as little time as possible at the waiting room. When we can, we will have you sign forms and make payments outside the office, by phone or mail.

  8. If you need pillows, blankets or both to be comfortable in our chair, we ask that for now, you bring your own.

  9. You are welcome to use our bathroom, but please use the bathroom before you leave your house.

Do you have any questions?

Feel free to call me. I once again want to thank you for trusting me to care for you.

Yours truly,

Alberto.
